Abstract: This study examines the impact of internships on vocational education outcomes in Nigeria, assessing their role in enhancing skill development, employability, and career advancement for students. Internships provide valuable hands-on experience and exposure to real-world work environments, yet their effectiveness within the Nigerian vocational education context requires empirical investigation. The research aims to (1) evaluate the benefits of internships in developing vocational skills and competencies, (2) analyze factors influencing internship quality and outcomes, and (3) propose strategies for optimizing internship programs to maximize educational and career benefits. A survey research design is justified to gather perspectives from interns, employers, and educational institutions. A sample size of 300 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent interns and employers across various sectors in Anambra State. Case studies will highlight successful internship programs and their impact on student learning and career pathways. Findings indicated that high-quality internships improve skill acquisition, facilitate industry connections, and increase job placement rates. Recommendations include establishing structured internship frameworks, enhancing supervision and mentorship, and promoting partnerships between educational institutions and employers to ensure internship relevance and educational alignment.
