Abstract: This study investigates the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) simulations in enhancing technical training outcomes in Nigeria, exploring their potential to revolutionize skill acquisition and educational practices. Virtual reality offers immersive learning experiences that simulate real-world environments, providing students with hands-on training opportunities in safe and controlled settings. The research aims to (1) assess the impact of VR simulations on skill development and retention, (2) analyze student engagement and learning outcomes compared to traditional methods, and (3) explore challenges and opportunities for integrating VR into technical education curricula. A survey research design is justified to gather perspectives from students, educators, and industry experts. A sample size of 300 participants will be chosen through purposive sampling to represent technical institutions and VR technology providers in Delta State. Case studies will showcase institutions pioneering VR applications in technical training. Findings indicated that VR simulations enhance practical learning experiences, improve skill mastery, and increase student motivation and engagement. Recommendations include investing in VR infrastructure and content development, training educators in VR pedagogy, and collaborating with industry partners to ensure alignment with job market requirements and technological advancements in vocational education.
