ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to evaluate E-Mobilization and 2023 general election. The impact of the use of social media. A case study of kogi central senatorial district. Specifically, the study aims to  find out social media platforms used for  political campaigns in Nigeria’s 2023 general elections, ascertain the various social media platforms used for political campaigns in Nigeria’s 2023 general elections, determine the influence of social media use on voter education in kogi central senatorial district and verify whether social media campaigns influenced voters participation in the Nigeria’s 2023 general elections. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 259 responses were validated from the survey. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that Social media campaigns  influenced voters participation in the Nigeria’s 2023 general elections. The study thereby recommend that youths should not limit their activities to online media, but try to take these movements to the streets, offices and get involved more in offline activities. The percentage of offline activists is very low compared to the high number of online activists.  Also, given the ability of information to travel very fast and go viral online, social media users and advocates should be careful the information they share so that they do not cause chaos when wrong information or rumours are uploaded
