While null hypotheses 2, 3, 5 and 6 were tested using the chi- square. All hypotheses are tested at 0.05 alpha level of significance. It was found that the couples differ in their perception of the causes of divorce (z = 4.22, p = 0.00); The married males differ in their perception of the causes of divorce (X2 = 157.036, p = 0.001 ); The married females differ in their perception of the causes of divorce (X2 = 101.022, p =0.001) ; The couples differ in their perception of the remedies of divorce (z = 4.86, p = 0.00); The married males differ in their perception of the remedies for divorce (X2 = 59.210, p = 0.003); and The married females differ in their perception on remedies for divorce (X2 = 94.714 p = 0.002). recommendations includes there is an obvious need for pre-marital counselling for young men and women in our society to prepare their minds adequately for marriage and the counsellors should utilize the mass media such as television in the creation of awareness.
