EXCERPT FROM THE STUDY

People are constantly surrounded by culture (often invisible) that forms the background of their work lives in organizations. Organizational culture provides a powerful mechanism for controlling behavior by influencing how we view the world around us. Organizations do not exist in vacuum but in a specific culture or socio culture environment that influences the way their employees think, feel, and behave. Work place culture is a very powerful force that influences an employee’s work life. It is the very thread that holds the organization together. Hence, managers and employees do not work in a value-free environment; they are governed, directed and tempered by the organization’s culture.
