Lawsha and Hussain (2011) conducted a study on the secondary students’ attitude towards mathematics in selected schools in Maldives. The purpose of this study was to find out the students attitude towards mathematics and find gender difference in attitude towards mathematics. A total of 200 secondary students were administered with questionnaire on Fennema-Sherman mathematics attitude scale. A survey design was employed and the statistical package for the social science (SPSS) was used to analyze the data. The t-test was used to find the significant difference between gender and attitude towards mathematics. The results of their study showed the following findings there was no statistically significant difference between the students ‘attitude towards mathematics between male and female. Hence the attitudes towards mathematics’ among male and female students are equal. That students’ positive attitude towards mathematics is at medium level. It shows that there are still possible rooms for improvement.
