EXCERPT FROM THE STUDY
Human beings have in them the capacity to do more than the normal. However, it takes motivation to get that extra. In an organization, the management are geared towards achieving goals which translates to their mission or vision. This feat is not achievable if the employee who are suppose to be the light-bearers are in-motivated.
Motivation is a necessary part of management. This is because the extra the management desire is in the hands of the employee. Fortunately in Nigeria, employee motivation is not truly progressive especially in the public institutions. This is due to several bureaucratic bottle necks that obstructs, distracts and deny effective motivation for staff members. The consequence of this situation is low productivity, redundant personnel and slow economy. This study has therefore discovered that motivation is therefore a tool for effective organizational productivity and this tool should not be overlooked or neglected by the management of institutions.
