ABSTRACT
Nigeria is naturally endowed with vast expanse of forest land, the swamp forests in the extreme Southern part of the country, the tropical rainforest in the South- western axis and the wooded savannah in the middle belt. Nigeria ranks among the countries of the world with abundant forest resources. This work was on the causes, effect and control strategies for Deforestation . the research work employed descriptive statistics for the analysis. causes, effects, and ways of controlling deforestation was discussed with data from both primary and secondary data sources. conclusion and recommendations were made.
