ABSTRACT
The study evaluates the impact of the relationship between e-banking and cyber crime, the study has the following objectives,to evaluate the relationship between e-banking and cyber crime, to identify factors militating against effective e-banking services, to determine the solution to the issues of cybercrimes that are related to e-banking.
Concerning methodology for this study, data was obtained from primary source that is questionnaire and secondary source which include text books, journalsThe statistical mean scores was used to analyse the Livert’s five-point questionnaire while the frequency 10 unit and simple percentage was used to analyze respondents characteristics. The criteria for calculating the mean is: - Mean (x) – ∑fx
The chi-square test was employed by the researcher to test the significance of the responses from the credit officers of fidelity bankPlc (respondent).
The study has the following findings; E banking is beneficial to customers in Nigeria, Customers were well satisfied with e banking in Nigeria, Cybercrime exists in the banking sector of Nigeria, There is a significant relationship between e banking and cybercrime in Nigeria, E banking aids cybercrime in Nigeria, there are factors militating against effective e banking in Nigeria. This research will be a contribution to the body of literature in the area of the effect of personality trait on student’s academic performance, thereby constituting the empirical literature for future research in the subject area.
