ABSTRACT
The main purpose of this study is to assess the cross ventilation in public buildings like; Churches, Mosques, Schools and so on, and the need to ensure that they are well ventilated to prevent suffocation and other health hazards. The study uses the survey method in form of questionnaires because it gives the opportunity to make inferences about the characteristics of a population which is the purpose of the study. Based on the findings the following recommendations were made; the government should set-up strict laws guiding the construction of public building in order to provide adequate cross ventilation, defaulters should be punished, good fenestration should be provided to facilitate good ventilation and lightening in public buildings, landscape microclimate control should be put in place to enhance proper ventilation in public buildings as well as applying the current trends of ventilation in public places.
