ABSTRACT
The study examined the role of the national home grown school feeding programme (nhgsfp) in curbing school drop-out of pupils in katsina state.
The study intends to Investigate the impact of national home-grown school feeding program on curbing school dropouts of pupils in Kastina state, Investigate if there is a relationship between the national home grown school feeding program and retaining school pupils in Kastina state and examine the perception of school pupils towards the national home-grown school feeding program in Kastina state. The survey design was employed. The population of study consisted of 141 teachers and pupils. The results of the study showed that the impact of the national homegrown school feeding program on curbing school dropouts of pupils in Kastina state is address hunger and encourage learners to enroll, Improves pupil interest for school, Better concentration in school and understand and perform academically. Also, there is a significant relationship between the national home grown school feeding program and retaining school pupils in Kastina state. Lastly, the perception of school pupils towards the national home-grown school feeding program in Kastina state is address hunger and encourage learners to enroll, contribute to the improvement of their nutritional status, provide nourishment for their growth and development and help boost their immune system and enhance health and nutrition values and behaviour.. Based on the results, it was recommended that the federal, state and local government should increase the funding of the National Home Grown School Feeding Policy (NHGSFP). This will aid the administration of the programme. Also, the federal government should strengthen the monitoring and evaluation system of the National Home Grown School Feeding Programme (NHGSFP). This will help to realize the objectives of the programme
