ABSTRACT
The trend of students’ performance can positively change through a gradual process of using an updated and comprehensive instructional materials. This is because the students overtime get use to some materials of teaching and if the materials are right then the right knowledge have been communicated which automatically influence the trend of their performance. In this study the focus was on the usefulness of instructional materials to change the trend of students’ performance in junior secondary schools. The study selected 52 teachers who served as sample respondents while the findings revealed that to a very great extent, the use of instructional materials have been useful for teaching and learning.
