Findings from the study revealed that 31.6% of secondary school student do in one occasion feel depressed, mentally drained and on the adverse wish to take their life, of which only 52.5% of the teachers and counselor are aware of this risk. Findings of the study further revealed that since only average percent of the counselor knows about the situation only 70.2% are willing to assist student get rid of this behaviour.

The findings further concludes that although the interactive approach of counselling would be helpful to student but education on suicide can help guidance counselors dispel these myths and better their position to help students at risk. The study therefore recommends that  Schools should strive to form and sustain positive relationships with other community resources. Providing guidance counselors readily available agencies and services to contact is most beneficial when a student suicide threat or attempt is made. finally guidance counselors should take it upon themselves to increase their awareness of suicidal behaviour and crisis intervention procedures within their school.
