ABSTRACT
This study is designed to investigate the effect of the use of reward and punishment in the academic performances of pupils in Yewa North Local Government in conducting the study. A questionnaire was designed and administered in the selected primary schools. The responses were analyzed using simple percentages and tables. Reward is frequently employed by teachers in many primary employed by teachers in many schools and Punishment is also used in high frequency by teachers. In this work we found out that there is no significant relationship between reward and punishment with academic performance of primary school pupils and that Reward and punishment system has brought about positive changes on the academic performance of primary school pupils.
