Background of the study
TikTok lip sync videos have emerged as a transformative force in Nigerian phonetic articulation. These videos, which combine visual performance with audio mimicry, encourage users to experiment with pronunciation, intonation, and accent modification. Nigerian TikTok users frequently adapt global trends to local contexts, blending traditional phonetic features with innovative vocal styles (Adebayo, 2023). The dynamic, creative nature of lip sync performances not only entertains but also reshapes conventional speech patterns.
