Background of the study
Viral hashtags on Twitter have significantly influenced morphosyntactic patterns in Nigerian digital discourse. The rapid proliferation of these hashtags often leads to the creation of new linguistic forms and alters established grammatical structures (Olufemi, 2023). This study explores how viral hashtags, through their widespread use and inherent creativity, serve as catalysts for morphosyntactic change among Nigerian netizens. Twitter neologisms emerging from these hashtags illustrate how digital communication disrupts traditional language conventions by introducing innovative word formations, syntactic variations, and novel morphological constructs (Adebayo, 2024). Statement of the problem
