Background of the Study:
Political dynasties have long influenced the landscape of local governance by consolidating power within familial networks. In Ogbomosho South, the prevalence of political dynasties has shaped administrative practices and policy directions (Adewale, 2023). These dynasties often leverage established political capital to secure and retain power, which can lead to reduced accountability and meritocracy in governance (Fadeyi, 2024). Researchers have noted that while dynastic politics can provide continuity and experience, they also risk perpetuating corruption and limiting fresh leadership opportunities (Ogunleye, 2025). This study investigates the influence of political dynasties on local government administration, assessing how familial ties affect decision-making, resource allocation, and public trust in governance (Adewale, 2023). The analysis draws on both historical and contemporary examples to understand the complex dynamics that political dynasties introduce into local governance structures.
Statement of the Problem:
The entrenched influence of political dynasties in Ogbomosho South has led to challenges in administrative accountability and equitable service delivery. Familial ties often overshadow merit-based appointments, resulting in inefficiencies and public disillusionment with local governance. This study aims to explore the adverse effects of dynastic politics on administrative performance (Fadeyi, 2024).
