Background of the Study:
Traditional farming practices in Ekpoma Local Government have sustained rural communities for generations through indigenous knowledge and labor-intensive techniques. These methods, which include organic fertilization, intercropping, and seasonal planting, have fostered resilient agricultural systems (Afolabi, 2023). However, the rapid introduction of modern technology in agriculture—such as mechanization, chemical inputs, and digital farming tools—has begun to transform these traditional practices (Bamidele, 2024). While modern technology offers increased efficiency and productivity, it also poses challenges to the preservation of indigenous knowledge and sustainable farming methods (Segun, 2025).
