Background of the study:
Traditional fishing techniques in Bonny Local Government have sustained local communities for generations. These methods, which often rely on indigenous knowledge of local waterways and fish behavior, have proven to be environmentally sustainable and economically vital (Ibrahim, 2023). As modern fishing practices and technologies emerge, there is growing concern about overfishing and environmental degradation. Statement of the problem:
Traditional fishing techniques in Bonny are increasingly threatened by modern fishing methods and environmental degradation, which may undermine their sustainability.
