ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to examine the problems of tertiary institutions in Nigeria using College Of Education Ekiadolor- Benin City in Edo State as case study.The study adopted a survey research design and conveniently enrolled participants in the study. A total of 150 responses were received and validated from the enrolled participants where all the respondents were drawn from the staff and students of College Of Education Ekiadolor- Benin City in Ovia North-East, Edo State. Data was analyzed using frequencies and tables. Findings from the study revealed that there are lot of challenges facing the Nigeria Tertiary institutions such as over population, cultism, poor infrastructure, lack of power supply administration, problems of finance, corrupt leadership, and mismanagement of funds. The study therefore recommends that lThe federal government should provide adequate funds to the tertiary institution to enable them provide basic facilities for the students. The federal government should also put some machinery in place to ensure that the funds allotted to the tertiary institutions are properly utilized.
