Abstract
In this study, our focus was to carryout a critical analysis on the problems affecting the effective teaching and learning of business studies. A sample of 125 respondents was selected from secondary schools across mainland local government in Lagos state using the simple and stratified sampling techniques.
From the analysis result, it was revealed the problems militating against effective teaching and learning of Business Education in Secondary School in Mainland L.G.A of Lagos State. According to Aina (2001), the active use of business education curriculum content by teachers has improve teaching methods which invariably influence students’ academic work. Business education is a programme that prepares students for the demand of the business world. It is in keeping with the objective of business education programmes, that the authors found it pertinent to seek strategies that will properly more practically prepare students for the demands of the business world.
