ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the effect of safety management on job performance among employees in hospitality industry  using sunshine hotel, Ondo State. Specifically, the study identify potential hazards in the industry. The study also  investigate safety management procedures that are in use in hotels. Lastly, the study  examine the influence of safety management on job performance. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 30 responses were validated from the survey.  From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that there is a significant relationship between safety management and job performance. Also , there are  potential hazards in the hotel industry. Lastly, there is  Safety management procedures are in use in hotels . The study hereby recommend that awareness on occupational hazards should be made to the employees.  Also  adequate training should be given to employees on preventive measures. Furthermore, a law should be put in place to force employers to be liable for hospital bills for employees injured at work. Lastly,the law enacted on Occupational Health and Safety policy should include hospitality industry
