ABSTRACT
This study examines human resources development and productivity in the public service. The survey design was adopted and the simple random sampling techniques were employed in this study. The population size comprised of staff of Nigeria ALSCON, Uyo. In determining the sample size, the researcher purposefully selected 50 respondents and 30 were validated. Self-constructed and validated questionnaire was used for data collection. The collected and validated questionnaires were analyzed using frequency tables. The result of the findings reveals that human resources in any way contribute to workers productivity in public service. It also revealed that there is significance relationship between human resources and worker to satisfaction. The study further reveals that Uyo local government embarks on human training and development programs. The study recommends that annual performance appraisal and evaluation of workers should be properly and equitably conducted. It further recommends that the work attitude of the staffs should be improved to help their productivity by encouraging job satisfaction.
