ABSTRACT
This study attempted to investigate the effects of single-parenthood on the academic performance of secondary school students. The purpose of the study is to find out the influence of family pattern on the academic performance of secondary school students. A total number of two hundred (200) subjects were randomly sampled for the study. Schools were purposely selected to cater for mixed schools, boys and girls schools. In which questionnaire were adequately administered as an instrument of data collection. The data collected were adequately administered and data were analyzed using the Taro Yamani and chi-square which aid conclusion and adequate recommendations were made
