ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine the attitude of illiterate women towards family planning in Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State. Specifically, the study  Determine the attitude of illiterate women towards family planning in Shangev-Ya district in Kwande local government area. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 77 responses were validated from the survey. The study adopted the theory of reasoned action and the theory of planned behaviour. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that the the condom method of family planning was widely accepted.

The study recommend government and religious bodies should be more involved in the sensitization campaign of family planning. More so, illiterate women should be carried along and duly informed of the modern types of family planning and their benefits.
