ABSTRACT
The study examined an investigation into the impact of television series on the nigerian women (a case study of lagos state) . Mass media especially television has been a major agent of socialization and education in society through educational programmes like “Project Fame West Africa, AY Show, Teju BabyFace Show, Nigerian Idol, who wants to be a millionaire etc”. Three research questions and two hypothesis guided the study. A survey method which employed a structured questionnaire was employed for data collection from 200 Lagos metropolis Women. Frequency and percentage method of data analysis was employed. The findings showed that 94.4% of the respondents watch “AY Show usually from one of the Nigerian TV series (39%) regularly. Almost 50% of the respondents have been watching AY Show between 4-6 years. Larger percentage of the respondent (89%) admitted that AY Show TV series have influenced them in some many ways as a result of this, 94.4% of the respondents established that the programme is entertaining while, 5 respondents representing 5.6% said it does not had value to lives.
