Background of the Study
Language learning is increasingly leveraging digital technologies to enhance student engagement and improve proficiency. At Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State, the development of a motion graphics-based online tutorial system for learning French is being pursued as an innovative approach to language education. Motion graphics combine animated visuals, text, and audio to create dynamic instructional content that can simplify complex linguistic concepts and cultural nuances. This system is designed to present French grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation through visually engaging tutorials that capture learners’ attention and promote better retention (Ibrahim, 2023). The use of motion graphics enables the transformation of static textbook content into interactive lessons that appeal to digital natives. By integrating real-life scenarios, cultural insights, and interactive quizzes, the tutorial system offers a comprehensive learning experience that adapts to the pace and style of individual learners (Chinwe, 2024). Recent studies have shown that multimedia approaches in language education not only enhance comprehension but also foster greater motivation and participation among students (Afolabi, 2024). In addition, the online platform provides flexibility, allowing students to access learning materials anytime and anywhere, which is particularly beneficial in resource-constrained settings. The background of this study highlights the potential of motion graphics to revolutionize French language education by making lessons more accessible, engaging, and effective, ultimately contributing to improved language proficiency and cultural awareness.

Statement of the Problem
Traditional French language instruction at Federal University, Dutse often relies on conventional teaching methods that may not fully engage students or address the diverse learning needs of modern learners. Many students struggle with the abstract nature of grammatical rules and vocabulary when taught through traditional lectures and static materials, leading to low retention rates and limited conversational proficiency (Ibrahim, 2023). Additionally, the lack of interactive and visually stimulating content in existing courses can result in decreased motivation and engagement. Although digital tutorial systems have been introduced in some language programs, few effectively utilize motion graphics to create immersive learning experiences. Technical challenges such as content development, software compatibility, and ensuring cultural relevance further hinder the effectiveness of current systems (Chinwe, 2024). This study aims to address these challenges by developing a motion graphics-based online tutorial system specifically tailored for learning French. It will investigate how animated visuals and interactive components can enhance language comprehension, retention, and overall proficiency. The research will also explore the technical and pedagogical obstacles associated with the integration of motion graphics into language learning, providing recommendations for optimizing the system for maximum educational impact (Afolabi, 2024).

Objectives of the Study
• To develop and implement a motion graphics-based online tutorial system for French language learning.
• To evaluate its effectiveness in improving student engagement and language proficiency.
• To identify and address technical and pedagogical challenges in system integration.

Research Questions
• How does the motion graphics-based system enhance French language learning?
• What improvements in language proficiency are observed after its implementation?
• What challenges affect its adoption, and how can they be overcome?

Significance of the Study
This study is significant as it introduces an innovative, visually engaging approach to French language education, potentially improving learner outcomes and motivation (Ibrahim, 2023). The findings will provide valuable insights for educators and curriculum developers at Federal University, Dutse, guiding the integration of advanced digital tools in language learning and contributing to more effective and enjoyable educational experiences (Chinwe, 2024).

Scope and Limitations of the Study
This study is limited to the development and evaluation of a motion graphics-based online tutorial system for learning French at Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa State. It focuses exclusively on digital language learning and does not extend to other subjects.

Definitions of Terms
