Abstract
The study assessed the level of teaching effectiveness of teachers in Ogun State. It also determined the relationship between teachers’ effectiveness and primary school pupils’ academic performance. The study specifically was aimed at ascertaining if teachers effectiveness have any effect on pupils academic performance. The study adopted the survey research design and randomly enrolled participants in the study. A total of 80 responses were validated from the enrolled participants where all respondent are active teachers in the 5 selected primary schools Abeokuta south LGA in Ogun State. Result from this investigation proved that there is a significant relationship between teacher’s effectiveness and pupil’s academic performance. Based on the findings of this study, it can therefore be concluded that teachers’ effectiveness is a correlate of primary school pupils’ academic achievement in Abeokuta Local Government Area of Ogun State.
