Background of the Study
Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) play a vital role in healthcare policy advocacy, particularly in regions where government interventions are inadequate. NGOs contribute by influencing policy formulation, providing healthcare services, and advocating for reforms that improve healthcare accessibility and quality. Their efforts often focus on marginalized communities, ensuring that health policies address the needs of vulnerable populations.
In Gombe State, healthcare challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, poor funding, and limited access to quality medical services persist. NGOs have been instrumental in bridging these gaps by supporting immunization programs, maternal health initiatives, and disease prevention campaigns.
