Background of the Study
Community-based healthcare policies are designed to promote healthcare accessibility and participation at the grassroots level. These policies focus on preventive healthcare, maternal and child health, immunization, and disease control, particularly in underserved communities. In Kaduna State, community-based healthcare programs such as primary healthcare outreach, community health worker initiatives, and immunization campaigns play a vital role in addressing healthcare challenges.
However, despite these policies, healthcare access in some communities remains inadequate due to poor funding, lack of trained personnel, and weak policy implementation. This study seeks to examine the impact of community-based healthcare policies on health outcomes in Kaduna State, assessing their successes and identifying challenges that need to be addressed.
Statement of the Problem
While community-based healthcare policies aim to improve healthcare accessibility and outcomes, their impact in Kaduna State remains inconsistent. Some communities still experience limited access to primary healthcare due to logistical challenges, poor community engagement, and inadequate policy implementation. Evaluating the impact of these policies will provide insights into their effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Objectives of the Study
To assess the impact of community-based healthcare policies on healthcare accessibility in Kaduna State.
To identify challenges affecting the implementation of these policies.
To propose strategies for enhancing community-based healthcare services.
