​​​​​​​BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

In the world today, business is the most essential word used by all. It enable leaving every good business today tries to satisfy it customers in order to achieve its specific goals. This objective cannot be achieved without essential human and material resources tools needed to achieve this objective (Adler 2016). The efficiency of job performance of this human resources (manpower) cannot be over emphasized. Several culture in business administration and organization management have stressed the concept of efficiency is that state of efficiency on job performance.

  According to Adler (2016) efficiency is that state of quality of being able to produce or perform a desired or satisfactory results. It is the maximum input of effort geared towards achieving a set out objective. For one to put his/her best for efficiency he/ his needs to be appreciated recognized or praised. According to Berelson, & Steiner (2015), "more is an inner state the  energizes, activities or moves (hence motivation) and that directs channels behavior towards goals.

  According to Beach (2015) motivation is defined as the inner derive that directs a person's behavior towards goals’ that a goal is the satisfaction of some need, and a need is the difference between a desires state and actual state.

Mullins (2015) describes motivation as the direction and persistence of action. it is concerned with why people choose a particular course of action in preference to others and why they continue with a  choose action often over a long period and  In the face of difficulties and problems.

According to Koontz, (2018) motivation as a drive weapon or tools which facilities one's instinct towards achieving and effective and efficient job performance. Motivation is a general term applying to the entire class of drivers, needs, wishes and similar forces.

In addition, Vineet, Sinha & Bajaj (2015)  identified motivation according to  the three main components  of motivation as direction,  intensity and persistence and pointed out that direction "relaters to what an individual chooses to do when presented with a number of possible alternative, where as persistence mean "the staying power of behavior or how long a person can continue to devout effort "

Also according to our course manual on psychology, human motives are based   on needs  weather consciously or on consciously felt. some are primary needs : such as the physiological requirement for water, food, sex, sleep and shelter. Other needs may be regarded as physiological needs which are secondary needs: self-esteem status, affiliation with others, affection giving accomplishment and self- assertion hoe long a person can continue to devout effort.
