Background of the Study
Workplace wellness programs have gained prominence as organizations seek to improve employee well-being and productivity. These programs typically include health screenings, fitness initiatives, mental health support, and stress management workshops. Research indicates that companies investing in wellness programs experience lower absenteeism, improved job satisfaction, and higher productivity (WHO, 2024).
In Kaduna State, many organizations have introduced workplace wellness initiatives, but their effectiveness in enhancing employee productivity remains unclear. Some employees may not fully utilize these programs due to awareness gaps, time constraints, or organizational culture (Ibrahim & Yusuf, 2024). Evaluating the impact of workplace wellness programs in Kaduna State can provide valuable insights into their effectiveness and areas for improvement.
Statement of the Problem
Despite the increasing adoption of workplace wellness programs, their actual impact on employee productivity is often debated. Some organizations in Kaduna State invest in wellness programs, yet employee performance issues such as burnout, absenteeism, and low morale persist (Adepoju & Salami, 2024). There is a need to assess whether these programs effectively contribute to improved workplace productivity or if they require modifications for better outcomes.
This study evaluates the relationship between workplace wellness programs and employee productivity, identifying key success factors and implementation challenges.
