Background of the Study
The traditional library system in universities has evolved over the years to accommodate the changing needs of students and faculty. With the rise of digital resources and online materials, many universities have started transitioning to e-libraries. An E-library is an online system that allows students and staff to access books, journals, articles, and other academic resources digitally, making learning more accessible and flexible.
In Minna, Niger State, universities have made strides in adopting digital resources, but the lack of personalized recommendations for students remains a challenge. AI-powered book recommendation systems can enhance the usability of e-libraries by providing personalized book suggestions based on students' preferences and academic needs. This study aims to implement an AI-powered e-library system for universities in Minna, allowing students to discover relevant academic resources based on their learning habits and preferences.
Statement of the Problem
Universities in Minna face challenges related to the efficient management and utilization of their digital resources. While e-libraries have been introduced, students often struggle to find relevant books and academic materials that align with their individual learning paths. The absence of a personalized recommendation system limits the effectiveness of these digital resources.
