Background of the study
As physical and time-consuming operations are digitalized, the globe is rapidly becoming a digital hub. In the 1990s, people utilised primitive ways to count visits by manually counting them or using a manual tally counter. However, with ongoing innovations and increased requirements and obstacles, such as the covid-19 epidemic, which necessitated social distance and crowd management, load control for structures, room temperature control, feel trespassers, and a variety of others. The need for electronic devices capable of controlling crowds and room utilities has increased to the point that they might be employed in a range of real-time applications such as hotels and living rooms. As a result, according to Tokheim (2016), an automated counter system has evolved as a cost-effective method of counting the number of persons entering or departing a room. It is programmed using an Arduino development board and employs cheap sensors like as infrared or ultrasonic sensors to intelligently detect and count the number of individuals. The Ultrasonic Sensors will identify persons entering the room through the door, and the signal will be transferred to the Arduino Nano for processing and managing the room count, as well as precisely monitoring the room's lighting system. It also gives accurate crowd monitoring information. The Ultrasonic Sensors will identify persons entering the room through the door, and the signal will be transferred to the Arduino Nano for processing and managing the room count, as well as precisely monitoring the room's lighting system.
Schuler (2019) the industrial batch counter is an electronic and electrical equipment that counts and regulates the movement of people through an automatic sliding door that only opens when the administrator approves it. the design concept involves a basic sensor unit that opens and closes the door when someone blocks the light passage. These attributes can be used to identify whether or not someone has entered or exited the conference hall (for instance). The light sensing type comprises monitoring the unit with photon or optical devices, which include an encoder (transmission channel or energy source) and a decoder (receiver unit that converts the light intensity to electrical signal). According to Schuler (2019), an LED emitter in close proximity to a photo detector (Light Dependent Resistor, photo transistor, or infrared detecting diode) forms a very useful item known as an opto-coupler or opto-isolator. When the opto coupler is occluded, the door opens and the display shows the number of people in the room increasing or decreasing (depending on the path followed). This project report provides a more comprehensive view of the industrial batch counter
