Introduction

Given the present energy crisis and the growing need for renewable energy. I am attempting to develop a low-cost, small-scale electrical generator that can be used to power consumer gadgets. Solar energy has demonstrated its usefulness as an alternative energy source since it has a low environmental effect and produces no emissions. It has been used successfully in power systems with hundreds of acres of massive solar concentrations. Solar energy has been gathered on a modest scale using photovoltaic (PV) panels and has been utilised to power everything from an iPod to a residential dwelling [1].

Although PV systems are considered part of the green energy revolution, the elements used in their creation (such as silicon) are exceedingly hazardous to the environment and must be recycled with considerable caution. PV cells also only use the energy stored in certain wavelengths of light, hence their efficiency ranges between 14 and 19%. Sunlight, on the other hand, generates enormous amounts of heat, which simply helps to heat up the surface of the solar cell. Although some PV cells have achieved efficiency levels of more than 40% (the world record is 41.6%), they are extremely complicated and expensive [2].

Cell phones have become an immensely popular item around the world, and it is simple to claim that they are an integral part of our everyday life. There were an estimated 4.6 billion mobile phones globally in 2010, and the number has been rising by more than a billion since then; this equates to more than half of the world's population. Both industrialised and developing nations are purchasing more mobile phones, although cell phone growth is highest in poorer countries [3]. However, mobile phones require electricity to charge their batteries in order to function, and many people in poor and third-world nations lack access to electricity. One inhabitant of a Tanzanian community, for example, tells how he brings all seven of the village's mobile phones down to a nearby town with power to charge all seven cell phones. This is obviously not what we see in the United States or other wealthy countries. Their inability to access a centralised power grid is due to one of two factors: the cost of constructing transmission lines to their homes, or the inability to construct transmission lines due to their location. In this project, a solar powered multiple cellphone charging booth will be designed and built in an attempt to provide an alternative means of charging to those unfortunate areas in third world and developing countries. However, the primary goal of this project is to design and build a solar-powered multiple mobile phone charger.

Solar power is a realistic supplement to existing energy sources. It significantly supplements current energy supplies. Solar cells may be incorporated into final consumer electrical or portable gadgets using clever designs. This lowers the need on charging devices with energy, making this a perfect solution for places where electricity may not be accessible. Solar panels are currently expensive, but their prices are decreasing. In addition, government assistance is frequently accessible, particularly in isolated locations [4].

With solar panels accessible in a variety of form factors, a variety of consumer electrical products that use solar panels are entering the market, and this trend is projected to continue in the future. Speakers, earbuds, calculators, and other tiny power-consuming gadgets are already available. The tendency is to incorporate solar power in a tiny form factor, which extends battery life and works as an extra source of energy to augment battery power from other sources. As the efficiency of solar panels and conversion improves, a smaller area will be able to generate more electricity. Solar charging may someday become the only energy source in many consumer gadgets [4].
