The infamously problematic practice of examination malpractice in Nigeria is analogous to the rapid onset of an unpleasant social malaise that seems to defy any type of therapy and may be analogous to a sickness. It is widely recognized for its reputation for being awful. There is evidence in the literature to suggest that examination is one of the most contentious topics in education today due to the fact that, by its very nature, it attracts a great deal of criticism. Others of these critics pushed for a better comprehension of the subject matter rather than resorting to examination, while others of these critics advocated for a reduced focus to be put or laid on examination. In addition, it is well known that exams play a very vital part in the way that our educational system works. An examination, as defined by Aaron (2015), is "a formal test of somebody's knowledge, abilities, or competence in a specific field," and it is "particularly by means of oral or written questions or practical practice." [Citation needed] Examination, as defined by Adamu (2021), is a method for evaluating the level of knowledge and skill possessed by students. According to Bernard (2018), an examination is any act of wrongdoing or negligence that contravenes the norms and regulations of acceptable practice before, during, and after an examination for whatever reason. This includes any behavior that goes against the laws and regulations of acceptable practice. Examinations are conducted in every country in the globe. These tests, which are in fact and usually in name also contests, are intended to weed out the vast majority of applicants and assign the remaining candidates to specific open positions. When determining whether a student or group of students at a school passed or failed a test, the most significant factor considered was the quality of the examination. This is essential due to the fact that, in my opinion, history seems to support the ideas that it has always been a repeatable method of encouraging students' ardour by pitting them against one another in trial and competition. Ahmed's perspective seems to support these views. Students who are aware that their grade on a test, which will in turn decide their advancement or promotion, will work harder to get a passing grade on that examination. Examinations are also employed academically for the purpose of giving grades to students in secondary schools; for example, the placement of students in divisions one, two, and three, as well as the awarding of distinction credit, is all decided by the results of the students' examinations. After passing a test, students may earn a first, second (Upper and Lower), or third class degree in universities. This classification system is similar to the one used in high schools. Students who pass the school certificate examination with a division one pass are more likely to have an easier time finding a place in institutions of higher learning or in job situations with the society than students who pass with a division three pass. These grades are a measure of success and prestige. Those who know a student who has passed the school certificate examination with a division one pass will regard him or her as an academic treasure. All of these potential candidates have worked together to impact a student's attitude toward a test, which always ends in a drive for success in a certain examination, regardless of whether or not the student has studied for it. In addition to serving these purposes, examinations also have a few more. Examination is irregularities, which are planned and perpetuated by the candidates or their agents with the intention of getting an unwarranted advantage in the examination, as stated by Didu (2020). According to Didu, examination is irregularities. They are intended to serve as a foundation for license agreements. According to Senekan, one example is the drilling test, in which no one so far intends to place a limit to the number of drives on the road or to challenge motorists to complete the task of knocking out all bets on a short quantity of top-grade performance. The authorities have every intention of making sure that the people who are in charge of handling the vehicles are competent enough to do it with at least some level of effectiveness. The purpose of any and all licensing examinations is to weed out undesirables in order to make life safer for as many of our readers as possible. Results are not determined by a single, unchanging standard of performance but rather by the overall degree of skill shown by competitors and the order in which they are ranked. (Civil Servant) Given the amount of vacancies that need to be filled in the school system of Edo State, the students have to compete against one another in a series of ought in educational circles; this is why this task is necessary.
