Background of the Study

Political corruption is a significant barrier to the protection and promotion of human rights in many parts of the world, including Nigeria. In Plateau State, political corruption has been linked to widespread mismanagement of public resources, lack of accountability, and the failure to deliver essential services to citizens. This corruption undermines the ability of the government to protect citizens’ rights, including the right to education, healthcare, and security.

The diversion of public funds meant for infrastructure, healthcare, and education often leads to violations of citizens’ economic and social rights.
