Background of the Study
Goodluck Jonathan, as President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015, placed a strong emphasis on reforming Nigeria's higher education system. His administration introduced various policies aimed at improving access, quality, and infrastructure in the sector, with the aim of addressing the long-standing challenges in Nigerian universities. Among these policies were the revitalization of federal universities, the establishment of more public universities, and the introduction of new funding mechanisms to support education. The Nigerian government under Jonathan also focused on enhancing research capabilities, improving staff welfare, and promoting partnerships between higher education institutions and industries.
Minna, the capital city of Niger State, is home to institutions like the Federal University of Technology, Minna.
