Background of the Study
Godswill Akpabio, a former governor of Akwa Ibom State and currently the Senate President of Nigeria, has played a pivotal role in shaping the political and legislative environment of Nigeria. As Senate President, Akpabio has been tasked with leading a diverse and often divided National Assembly, composed of lawmakers from various political parties, ethnic backgrounds, and regions. The study will examine the strategies, outcomes, and challenges of his leadership, focusing on inter-party relations and governance. The study will be limited to Akpabio’s tenure and will not extend to other aspects of National Assembly politics or governance beyond Keffi.
