1.1 Background of the Study
Civil society organizations (CSOs) have long been recognized as critical players in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. In Makurdi Local Government Area, Benue State, CSOs have been instrumental in mediating between conflicting groups, advocating for peaceful coexistence, and providing humanitarian aid to those affected by violence. The state has experienced various forms of conflict, including ethnic and communal clashes, which have led to loss of lives and property.
