Background of the Study
Emergency nurses regularly encounter traumatic cases such as accidents, natural disasters, and violent injuries. The emotional and psychological toll of such incidents can affect nurses' mental health, job satisfaction, and performance. Effective coping mechanisms are essential for mitigating the stress caused by these traumatic cases. This study will assess the coping strategies used by emergency nurses at Kaduna State University Teaching Hospital (KASUTH) when dealing with traumatic cases.

It is essential to understand the coping mechanisms nurses employ to manage the psychological challenges of working in high-stress environments. This study will explore how emergency nurses at KASUTH cope with the emotional impact of traumatic incidents.
