BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY

Even if man has virtually perfect power over all things on earth, he is nonetheless susceptible to the environmental challenges that he has produced on a physical, biological, and social level. This is something that cannot be denied. The human race has either substantially eliminated communicable illnesses or is on the cusp of doing so, while at the same time, they are working to eradicate the agents that spread disease (Bukirhea, 2022). It is possible that he may disrupt the natural order to such a degree that he will put the availability of food at jeopardy, as well as polluting the water that he drinks and the air that he breathes. Bekhor (2022) emphasized the significance of a high-quality environment for the enhancement of man's well-being, but he did so in the context of man's ongoing efforts to exert control over his surroundings. Because of the technological and industrial advancements he has accomplished, the natural world around him now poses a higher risk to both his health and his life. Because of this, throughout the course of man's efforts to improve his standard of life, he has been successful in ruining the environment in which he lives, as can be seen in the air and the water. The educational system in Nigeria is not free from the environmental health concerns that plague the country. The atmosphere in many schools is not conducive to the healthy development of children. The majority of these schools do not have access to proper toilets, water supplies, or waste management systems. This is not compatible with a safe and healthy learning environment at the school (Deborah, 2020). Problems with human health that are caused by the environment are an example of a man-made danger to human health. Most notably, there is contamination of the water supply. This indicates that the environment continues to suffer as a result of the countless technical advancements that have been made, despite the fact that significant progress has been made toward creating better living conditions for humans (Ekhator , 2020). If the tranquility of the environment is captivating and sanitary maintenance for the purpose of the control of communicable diseases are charged with the responsibility of undertaking routine inspection, this inspection is done to control communicable diseases in schools. The school environment can become interesting, pleasant, and conducive to teaching learning situation if the serenity of the environment is captivating and sanitary maintenance for the purpose of the control of communicable diseases.
