INTRODUCTION
The pleasure that one has when they accomplish what they wanted or needed to do or when they acquire something they desired or required is the definition of satisfaction. It may be thought of as either the practice of gratifying or the condition of having satisfaction. The feeling of satisfaction may be described as either pleasurable or positive. It is also possible for it to refer to a mood, or even a state of mind. Accomplishment, recognition, originality, and service all contribute to a person's sense of satisfaction. Dissatisfaction may be thought of as the polar opposite of satisfaction. The more times we do something and are unsuccessful at it, the more dissatisfied we get. One of the things that might motivate conduct is feeling satisfied.
The term "marital contentment" refers to an individual's subjective and overall assessment of their relationship (Abrahamson, 2020). It has been shown time and time again that being in a happy marriage is related with improved physical health, improved mental health, and increased overall life satisfaction. On the other hand, studies have shown a correlation between marital discord, separation, and divorce and increased stress, as well as poor physical and mental health. Marriage, as an institution, plays an important part in enabling two people to experience the personal development and richness that may come from having a stable family life together. According to Ackard (2021), the major source of individual satisfaction and purpose in life is found to be love and marriage. Only when there is coherence and contentment in the connection between the partners can these beneficial outcomes, including satisfaction, happiness, and progress, be attainable. The desire to achieve marital contentment is often regarded as one of the most essential purposes of getting married. The phenomena of marital contentment is complicated and multi-faceted, and it has been thoroughly researched by a wide variety of scientific subfields (Adams, 2018). According to Adams, a person's level of marital satisfaction is both a worldwide judgment of the status of their marriage and a reflection of the happiness and functioning of their marriage. When examined through the lens of evolution, marital contentment may be understood as a psychological state characterized by controlled processes that keep track of the advantages and disadvantages that come with being married to a certain individual. According to most definitions of marital satisfaction, it is a subjective evaluation of the quality of the relationship between the couple (Althof et al, 2019). It would seem that different cultures may place different emphasis on different aspects that impact or contribute to marriage pleasure. In contrast to the United States, marital happiness in Japan is mostly determined by factors such as the level of financial support provided by the spouse. After being married, most people want their lives to be happy and fulfilling, and for this reason, having a successful marriage and being happy in your marriage are more important than actually getting married. A decline in marital satisfaction not only results in an unsuitable environment inside a family, but it also contributes to the instability of the family and increases the likelihood of divorce. As a consequence of this, since maintaining a healthy balance within the family is essential to ensuring that it does not fall apart, it is essential to have an understanding of the effective aspects in marital happiness, which serves as the foundation for a healthy and happy married life (APA, 2020). Despite the large number of studies that have been conducted on the topic of marital contentment, several experts have asserted that there are still certain characteristics that need explanation. In addition, a connection between a couple that is pleasant and relaxing is not only suited in order for them to grow and thrive; it is also vital for the growth and development of the children in the relationship. As a result, it is possible that it is a determinant for attaining one's life objectives and that it has a significant impact on the mental diseases that are prevalent in the community.
