1.1 Background of the Study

Electoral malpractice, including vote buying, rigging, and other forms of corruption, has long been a significant challenge to the legitimacy of electoral systems in Nigeria. In Sokoto LGA, Sokoto State, electoral malpractice has been a persistent issue, undermining the trust that citizens place in the electoral process and in elected officials.
