Background of the Study

Inter-party dialogue is a critical mechanism for fostering peaceful elections and resolving conflicts in politically volatile regions. In Katsina Local Government, Katsina State, electoral periods are often characterized by heightened tensions, which, without effective dialogue, escalate into violence. Inter-party dialogue provides a platform for political actors to address grievances, build trust, and promote consensus (Abubakar & Bello, 2024). This approach not only minimizes electoral violence but also strengthens democratic institutions by encouraging cooperation among parties (Aliyu & Ahmed, 2023). This study examines the role of inter-party dialogue in conflict resolution during elections in Katsina Local Government.
