Background of the Study

Marketing automation tools have become integral to digital marketing, enabling businesses to streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and personalize marketing campaigns. AI-driven tools take this a step further by leveraging machine learning algorithms and predictive analytics to optimize audience targeting, campaign scheduling, and lead nurturing (Johnson & Ahmed, 2024).

In Kogi State, digital marketers are increasingly adopting AI-driven marketing automation tools to remain competitive in the digital space. However, the effectiveness of these tools in achieving desired marketing outcomes, such as increased conversion rates, better ROI, and enhanced customer retention, is yet to be fully assessed. This study examines the impact of AI-driven marketing automation tools on digital marketing strategies in the state.

Statement of the Problem

Digital marketers in Kogi State face challenges such as inefficient campaign management, lack of personalization, and difficulty in analyzing large datasets. While AI-driven marketing automation tools promise to address these issues, their effectiveness is not universally established, especially in the context of resource-constrained environments like Kogi State (Eze & Thompson, 2023). This study evaluates how effectively these tools enhance marketing efficiency and performance.

  1. What is the adoption level of AI-driven marketing automation tools among digital marketers in Kogi State?

  2. How do these tools influence marketing performance and customer engagement?

  3. What challenges hinder the effective implementation of AI-driven marketing automation tools?

Research Hypotheses

  1. There is no significant relationship between the adoption of AI-driven marketing automation tools and marketing performance.

  2. AI-driven marketing automation tools do not significantly enhance customer engagement.

  3. Challenges to implementing AI-driven marketing automation tools are not significant in Kogi State.
