Background of the Study
Employee empowerment is a management practice that involves giving employees greater autonomy, responsibility, and decision-making power within an organization. In the hospitality industry, where service quality and customer satisfaction are key, empowering employees has been shown to improve performance, productivity, and employee satisfaction (Sani & Adebayo, 2023). Hospitality businesses in Benue State, like hotels and restaurants, face increasing pressure to maintain high standards of service and efficiency while competing with both local and national players.

Empowering employees through training, participatory decision-making, and providing them with the tools to solve customer problems on the spot has been linked to higher job satisfaction, lower turnover rates, and better customer experiences (Duru & Tunde, 2024). The hospitality industry in Benue State, however, may face challenges in implementing effective empowerment strategies due to resource limitations and organizational culture. An evaluation of the impact of employee empowerment strategies on productivity in this region is essential to help hospitality businesses improve their operational efficiency and service standards.

Statement of the Problem
Although employee empowerment strategies are known to enhance employee productivity in many industries, the specific impact of such strategies on productivity in Benue State’s hospitality sector remains largely underexplored. Many hospitality businesses in the region may be unaware of the full potential of employee empowerment to drive productivity and may face challenges in effectively implementing such strategies. Therefore, it is important to assess how employee empowerment can influence productivity in the hospitality businesses of Benue State (Okonkwo & Nwachukwu, 2023).
