Background of the Study

The rapid growth of digital media has significantly transformed the media landscape, challenging the relevance and operations of traditional print publishing. In Kano Municipal, a hub of economic and cultural activities in Northern Nigeria, traditional print media remains a critical source of information. However, the rise of digital platforms has reshaped audience preferences, revenue models, and content delivery. This study investigates the impact of digital media on the survival, adaptation, and competitiveness of traditional print publishing in Kano Municipal.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

As digital media consumption grows, traditional print media faces declining readership, advertising revenue, and influence. The inability to adapt to the digital era threatens the sustainability of print media in Kano Municipal.
