Background of the Study

Cultural festivals play a vital role in preserving traditions, fostering community identity, and promoting tourism. In Dass Local Government Area (LGA), Bauchi State, these festivals have significant cultural and economic value but face challenges such as low participation, inadequate publicity, and diminishing interest among younger generations. Communication serves as a critical tool for promoting awareness, increasing participation, and enhancing the visibility of cultural festivals. This study explores how communication strategies can be utilized to promote local cultural festivals in Dass LGA.

1.2 Statement of the Problem

Despite the cultural richness of Dass LGA, many local festivals are under-promoted, leading to low attendance and declining cultural significance. Ineffective communication strategies and limited outreach efforts contribute to this issue. This study examines how communication can address these challenges and promote the sustainability of local cultural festivals.
