Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
The hospitality industry is highly susceptible to crises, ranging from customer complaints to operational disruptions. Corporate communication plays a pivotal role in crisis prevention by fostering transparency, proactive engagement, and effective stakeholder management. In Kurfi Local Government Area, Katsina State, hospitality businesses are increasingly recognizing the importance of communication strategies in mitigating risks and maintaining customer trust. Research indicates that organizations with robust communication frameworks are better equipped to anticipate and prevent crises, ensuring operational continuity and brand integrity (Abdullahi & Bello, 2023). This study investigates the role of corporate communication in crisis prevention within the hospitality sector in Kurfi.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
The hospitality industry in Kurfi faces challenges such as poor customer feedback management, inadequate communication during potential crises, and lack of proactive engagement strategies. These issues often lead to reputational damage and customer dissatisfaction. This study examines how corporate communication can address these challenges to prevent crises effectively.
